Angelina Jolie reveals she can no longer bear children as a result of removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes....read on..

Angelina Jolie, mother of six revealed in an article she wrote for new York times published yesterday that she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as a preventative measure against cancer.

Read article below...
Angelina Jolie Pitt : Diary of a Surgery ( as first published on new York times)

Two years ago I wrote about my choice to have a preventive double mastectomy. A simple blood test had revealed that I carried a mutation in the BRCA1 gene. It gave me an estimated 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer. I lost my mother, grandmother and aunt to cancer.

I wanted other women at risk to know about the options. I promised to follow up with any information that could be useful, including about my next preventive surgery, the removal of my ovaries and fallopian tubes.

I had been planning this for some time. It is a less complex surgery than the mastectomy, but its effects are more severe. It puts a woman into forced menopause. So I was readying myself physically and emotionally, discussing options with doctors, researching alternative medicine, and mapping my hormones for estrogen or progesterone replacement. But I felt I still had months to make the date.
Then two weeks ago I got a call from my doctor with blood-test results. “Your CA-125 is normal,” he said. I breathed a sigh of relief. That test measures the amount of the protein CA-125 in the blood, and is used to monitor ovarian cancer. I have it every year because of my family history.

But that wasn’t all. He went on. “There are a number of inflammatory markers that are elevated, and taken together they could be a sign of early cancer.” I took a pause. “CA-125 has a 50 to 75 percent chance of missing ovarian cancer at early stages,” he said. He wanted me to see the surgeon immediately to check my ovaries.

I went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt. I told myself to stay calm, to be strong, and that I had no reason to think I wouldn’t live to see my children grow up and to meet my grandchildren.
I called my husband in France, who was on a plane within hours. The beautiful thing about such moments in life is that there is so much clarity. You know what you live for and what matters. It is polarizing, and it is peaceful.

That same day I went to see the surgeon, who had treated my mother. I last saw her the day my mother passed away, and she teared up when she saw me: “You look just like her.” I broke down. But we smiled at each other and agreed we were there to deal with any problem, so “let’s get on with it.”
Nothing in the examination or ultrasound was concerning. I was relieved that if it was cancer, it was most likely in the early stages. If it was somewhere else in my body, I would know in five days. I passed those five days in a haze, attending my children’s soccer game, and working to stay calm and focused.

The day of the results came. The PET/CT scan looked clear, and the tumor test was negative. I was full of happiness, although the radioactive tracer meant I couldn’t hug my children. There was still a chance of early stage cancer, but that was minor compared with a full-blown tumor. To my relief, I still had the option of removing my ovaries and fallopian tubes and I chose to do it.

I did not do this solely because I carry the BRCA1 gene mutation, and I want other women to hear this. A positive BRCA test does not mean a leap to surgery. I have spoken to many doctors, surgeons and naturopaths. There are other options. Some women take birth control pills or rely on alternative medicines combined with frequent checks. There is more than one way to deal with any health issue. The most important thing is to learn about the options and choose what is right for you personally.
In my case, the Eastern and Western doctors I met agreed that surgery to remove my tubes and ovaries was the best option, because on top of the BRCA gene, three women in my family have died from cancer. My doctors indicated I should have preventive surgery about a decade before the earliest onset of cancer in my female relatives. My mother’s ovarian cancer was diagnosed when she was 49. I’m 39.

Last week, I had the procedure: a laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. There was a small benign tumor on one ovary, but no signs of cancer in any of the tissues.

I have a little clear patch that contains bio-identical estrogen. A progesterone IUD was inserted in my uterus. It will help me maintain a hormonal balance, but more important it will help prevent uterine cancer. I chose to keep my uterus because cancer in that location is not part of my family history.
It is not possible to remove all risk, and the fact is I remain prone to cancer. I will look for natural ways to strengthen my immune system. I feel feminine, and grounded in the choices I am making for myself and my family. I know my children will never have to say, “Mom died of ovarian cancer.”
Regardless of the hormone replacements I’m taking, I am now in menopause. I will not be able to have any more children, and I expect some physical changes. But I feel at ease with whatever will come, not because I am strong but because this is a part of life. It is nothing to be feared.

I feel deeply for women for whom this moment comes very early in life, before they have had their children. Their situation is far harder than mine. I inquired and found out that there are options for women to remove their fallopian tubes but keep their ovaries, and so retain the ability to bear children and not go into menopause. I hope they can be aware of that.

It is not easy to make these decisions. But it is possible to take control and tackle head-on any health issue. You can seek advice, learn about the options and make choices that are right for you. Knowledge is power.

Amechi's allegation against me laughable says Patience Jonathan....

Wife of President Goodluck Jonathan,   Patience, on Monday, described an allegation of extortion levelled against her by the Rivers State Governor and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, as laughable.
Amaechi had, on Saturday, claimed that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Chief Nyesom Wike, had been paying $1m (N199m) monthly to Mrs. Jonathan.
The governor had claimed that Wike was giving the money to the President’s wife in order to gain political favour.
Mrs. Jonathan, who spoke with our correspondent through her media aide, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, however said there was no truth in the claim.
Adewuyi described Amaechi’s claim as laughable and ridiculous, saying that nothing short of such was expected from Amaechi.
He said, “The allegation that the First Lady is collecting money from Chief Wike monthly is laughable and ridiculous.
“You cannot but hear things like this from someone who is home alone.”
Wike himself had earlier denied the claim.
The governorship candidate, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Simeon Nwakudu, described Amaechi’s allegation as false and asked the governor to respond to the allegations of corruption against him.
Amaechi had said, “Do you know that the PDP governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike, has been giving one million dollars monthly to the wife of the President, Mrs Patience Jonathan? He has been doing this to gain political favour in the Presidency and to retain the favour.”

So sad!! Seyi law still in mourning over loss of his unborn child....

May God comfort them and bring them happiness henceforth in Jesus Name Amen!! I got this from the punch.
Seyi Law’s means of livelihood is to make people laugh but ironically, nobody could make the young comedian laugh when he lost his unborn child recently.
For the first time since the incident, the humour merchant opened up to Saturday Beats about how he felt when he lost his daughter in an exclusive chat.
“It is an experience I don’t want to share but at the point when we lost the child, I could not talk to my wife because as of that time, I had a lot running through my head. I was wondering how I could console her. I am somebody who loves writing, so I decided to write something to celebrate the baby and make other people encourage me. I know that God is there and he would see us through but sometimes you are weak and you need somebody to pull you out of the gloomy mood. That was why I posted the message on the internet and a lot of encouragement poured in. It was so emotional, encouraging and soul lifting when you see people who you have not met tell you that they have passed the same road and they were able to overcome and mine would not be different. When you hear people pray for you, it makes you know that your case is in the presence of God and He is going to do something fast about it,” he said.
When asked what led to the death of his daughter, the comedian almost broke down, pleading that he could not divulge such information because his wife is still recovering from their loss.
“I don’t really want to go into much detail because my wife is healing fast and I think it would be insensitive of me because I don’t want a situation whereby she would be reading all those things on the pages of the newspaper. I just want to tell people that it has been four years that we have been married and that was going to be our first baby just to let people understand how sensitive it was to us. For a woman who has had to go through the pain for over eight months only for you to discover that you are not going to be dancing around with the baby is so painful. I don’t want to get too emotional but I think people would understand if I don’t elaborate on what went wrong,” he said.

Oh no!! new casw of Ebola tested in Liberia....

A patient has tested positive for Ebola in Liberia’s capital, officials said Friday, deflating hopes that the country had beaten the disease after weeks with no new cases.
Liberia has seen the most deaths in the West African Ebola outbreak, which has killed more than 10,000 people. But since it discharged its last case on March 5, it was counting down to being declared Ebola-free. Countries must wait 42 days from when the last patient tests negative to be declared free of the virus.
But a new patient has now tested positive, Dr. Francis Kateh, the acting head of the country’s Ebola Incident Management Team, said Friday. A second test is generally done to confirm the diagnosis.

U.S vice president, phones jonathan and backs card readers for election...

The United States government has thrown its weight behind the Independent National Electoral Commission to use the Permanent Voter Cards and the smart card readers in the March 28 and April 11 elections.
The introduction of the PVC and the SCR for use in the 2015 general elections has been a subject of hot debate and litigation in the country.
The American government conveyed its approval of the card readers through Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday.
Biden spoke with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and the presidential candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on the forthcoming election, a statement on Thursday by the US embassy in Nigeria indicated.
The US Vice President commended President Jonathan and Buhari for signing the Abuja Peace Accord in mid-January, describing it as a show of their commitment to non-violence throughout the election process.
The statement read in part, “The Vice President further expressed the United States’ support for the Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commission and its work to deliver free, fair, and credible elections, in part through its essential efforts to distribute Permanent Voter Cards and help ensure that electronic voter card readers are in place and fully operational.”
Biden also registered his concern on the violence recorded during some recent election-related events and re-emphasised the need for both presidential candidates to make clear that such violence had no place in a democratic process.
The US vice president stated further that the American government would stand with the Nigerian people in support of credible and peaceful elections, and would continue to stand with the Nigerian people whatever the outcome of the presidential poll.

The great Napoleon of France, one of the most successful war generals that ever lived, once declared to his conquering troops: " impossible is a word found only in the dictionaries of fools. Reject it!" no wonder hisexploits were nearly limitless! In this year 2015 it does not matter how many if your prayer points has been answered or not, I want you to know that EVERY NONSENSE MUST STOP THIS YEAR! Wonders will happen concerning your life, family.........! Don't lose faith. Refuse to quit trusting, don't lower your expectations. There is a sound of the abundance of laughter in your house!  Remember that most great inventioms/ breakthroughs in the world today, were considered impossible by men or were vehemently resisted. BEWARE OF THOSE WHO STAND ALOOF AND GREET EACH VENTURE WITH REPROOF. THE WORLD WOULD STOP IF THINGS WERE RUN BY MEN WHO SAY "IT CAN'T BE DONE" no wonder swald sanders said, " eyes that look are common, those that see are rare!".in fact in 1899 a U.S engineer declared that "everything that can be invented has already been invented" the telephone was later invented the following year! Then a government official wrote the following about the then new telephone discovery : " the telephone has too many short comings to be seriously considered as a means of communication " what would have happened if the world believed that "mad" memo? There would be no digital lines, Androids, smart and "dull" phones, worldwide today. Learn to develop the force of patience! Ask those who built the great pyramid of Egypt and they would secretly inform you that IT WAS BUILT BY PATIENCE THAT THE QUARRY BECAME A PYRAMID,. IT WAS HY PATIENCE THAT THE GREAT COLISEUM OF ROME WAS BUILT! Never say m"NEVER" because with God all things are possible! Something great is about to happen concerning your situation! ICC To probe Patience Jonathan.......

The Internal Criminal Court on Monday said Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, is liable to prosecution.
The global criminal court added that it had begun conducting preliminary examinations relating to the situations in Nigeria.
In an email written to our correspondent, the Office of the prosecutor stated that it received the petition written by the major opposition party in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress, asking the ICC to prosecute President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife for making inciting comments that might lead to violence.
The email read, “Under Article 15 of the Rome Statue, the Prosecutor of the ICC may receive information on crimes within the jurisdiction on the Court (also called ‘Communication’).
“With regards to your enquiry, the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court can confirm receipt of the communication referred to since the sender (APC) has made this fact public in the media.”
It added that the court would take all the necessary steps, which will likely include interrogating the President’s wife and others mentioned in the petition of the APC.
“The office will give consideration to this communication, as appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Rome Statue of the International Criminal Court, as it does with all such communications,” the email sent to our correspondent concluded.
Also, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, on Monday issued a press statement made available to our correspondent.
In it, she reiterated the stance of the ICC to prosecute anyone who promotes or instigates violence before, during or after the general elections.
The ICC prosecutor noted that it had already started to conduct independent and impartial investigations and prosecution of the crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Darfur, Sudan, Libya, Ivory Coast and Mali.
“The Office is also conducting preliminary examinations relating to the situations in Afghanistan, Colombia, Georgia, Guinea, Honduras, Iraq, Nigeria, Ukraine and Palestine,” the ICC said.
